Community

Koodjal Booka considers housing across four interconnected levels: Materials, Shelter, Community and Country (see diagram below). Cultural, environmental and social needs guide each level, allowing housing to respond to Country, family structures and the priorities of each community.

The above site diagram shows how these considerations can shape a community. Dwellings are arranged in family groups and connected through shared paths, fire places and outdoor areas, while communal spaces, parking and waterlines help organise the wider site.
